Please join the Departments of Classical Studies and Cultural Anthropology at Duke for a lecture by Dr. Anna Agbe-Davies (UNC-CH) on "The Mis-Education of Pauli Murray." Email erika.weiberg@duke.edu for the Zoom link. This presentation considers education, womanhood, and signs as refracted through the life of human rights pioneer Pauli Murray, prompted by the archaeological investigations of her childhood home in Durham, NC. It is apart of a work in progress that investigates the place of material culture and the routines of daily life in African American women’s struggles for equality.
